Deduct

Ten seconds a record. The whole tax year, exported.

Spend money or drive for work, open Deduct and hit the big centre button: photograph the receipt, speak a sentence, or type an amount. All three land in the same editable sheet, so the habit is identical whichever you reach for. Every record is written to your phone before anything touches the network, and at the end of the tax year you export the lot — a CSV plus a zip of your receipt images — and send it on. Deduct records and exports. It does not submit anything to HMRC, it is not accounting software, and it does not give tax advice.

Features

  • Capture by photo, by voice or by typing — all into the same confirmation sheet
  • Deduct proposes the amount, date, merchant and category, and flags anything it is not confident about
  • Every record is written to your phone before any network call, so capture works with no signal
  • Mileage by hand, or Start trip and End trip with the distance measured for you
  • A UK tax-year dashboard: records captured, spend, miles, missing receipts and drafts
  • Search by merchant and filter five ways, with a full edit history on every record
  • Export a tax year or any date range as a CSV plus a zip of receipt images
  • No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier and no tracking of any kind

Who it's for

  • UK sole traders and self-employed people who keep their own expense records
  • Anyone who drives for work and wants the journey measured as they go
  • People who hand a tax year to an accountant and want it in one export
