Deduct — Terms of Use

Terms review pending
This page records the intended terms. They are approved before the app is offered for sale.
Not yet in force
Deduct is not yet available. These terms take effect when it goes on sale, and are reviewed and approved before that happens.
Description of service
Deduct is a record-keeping tool. It captures expenses and mileage on your iPhone, keeps them, and exports them as a CSV and an archive of your receipt images. It does not submit anything to HMRC, it is not Making Tax Digital software, it is not accounting software, and it does not give tax or financial advice. The set-aside figure on the dashboard is an estimate based on assumptions you choose, shown with those assumptions on the card; it is not a calculation of tax owed or relief due. Automatic reading of a receipt or a voice note proposes values for you to check — you confirm every value before a record is saved as confirmed, and the proposal is not a statement that an expense is allowable.
Customer responsibilities
- Check what Deduct proposes. Values read from a receipt or a voice note are suggestions, and the record is yours once you confirm it.
- Keep your own records as your tax obligations require. Deduct is a convenience, not your statutory record; export regularly and keep the export.
- Decide for yourself, or with your accountant or adviser, whether any expense is allowable. Deduct records what you tell it.
- Use Deduct only for your own lawful business records, and keep your device and your account credentials secure.
- Start and end a trip yourself. Deduct measures the distance between those two taps and nothing else.
Billing
Deduct is free to download. The free plan covers 20 confirmed expense records a calendar month; drafts and journeys do not count towards it, and hitting the cap saves the capture as a draft rather than discarding it. Plus is an annual auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store at the price shown at purchase, in your local currency and tax. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. It renews automatically for a further year unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period. Erosdow Group never sees or handles your card details; Apple is the seller of record.
Cancellation
Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings > your Apple Account > Subscriptions on your iPhone, not in Deduct. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have paid for. Cancelling never removes a record you have already captured — everything you have stays readable, searchable, editable and exportable, and export has no subscription check anywhere in it. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms, not by Erosdow Group. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings > Your data; deleting the account does not cancel the subscription, so cancel it separately.
Disclaimers
Deduct is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Erosdow Group does not guarantee that automatic reading of a receipt or a voice note will be accurate, that a figure it proposes is correct, or that your records satisfy any obligation you have to a tax authority.
Nothing in Deduct, on this site, or in its exports is tax, accounting, legal or financial advice, and no relationship of adviser and client is created by using it.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Erosdow Group is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Deduct, including any tax, penalty, interest or professional cost. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
This page is a draft pending review. It is not the final published terms, and Deduct is not yet on sale.
