Common questions

How do I start?

Open the app and answer five short questions. There is no account needed to start, and nothing is shared with anyone until you deliberately choose to share it.

Who can see my answers?

Only you, until you create a link. Every answer starts private and says so — each one carries a label showing exactly who can currently see it. When you share, you pick the specific answers, see an exact preview of the page the other person will get, and then create a private link. They see only the answers in that share: not the rest of your manual, not your other links, and not who else you have shared anything with.

How do I stop someone seeing what I shared?

Open Access. Every link you have created is listed there. Tap "Revoke access" on the one you want to stop, and it stops working immediately — the page becomes indistinguishable from a link that never existed. The app only tells you the link is revoked once the server has confirmed it; if revoking fails, it says so plainly rather than pretending it worked.

Can I un-send something after they have seen it?

Not entirely, and we would rather be straight about it. Revoking removes their access. It cannot remove a screenshot, a copy, or a photograph of the screen taken before you revoked. If someone kept a copy, that copy is theirs. The app says this at the moment you share, not afterwards.

Is my data encrypted? Is it end-to-end encrypted?

Encrypted, yes. End-to-end, no — and that distinction matters, so here it is plainly. Your answers travel over an encrypted connection and are stored encrypted, in the UK (London region). Access to the database is restricted and administrator accounts require multi-factor authentication, and the database itself enforces who can read what, so it will refuse to hand one person's answers to another. But this app is not end-to-end encrypted: someone with privileged access to the production database could in principle read stored content. Building it end-to-end would have made shared access, revocation and account recovery substantially harder, and we would rather ship something honest than something that says "encrypted" and means less than you assume.

I lost the link I created. Can you send it again?

No — and this is deliberate. We store only a fingerprint of each link, not the link itself, so there is nothing on our side to resend. Create a new link and revoke the old one.

What happens if I change an answer after sharing it?

The person holding the link sees the updated answer. A manual that froze at the moment you sent it would quickly become a manual about someone you used to be.

Does the app track me? Are there ads?

No, to all of it. No advertising, no tracking, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs beyond the one that talks to our own backend. The app requests no permissions at all — not contacts, not photos, not location.

Does it work offline?

Your own manual does. It is cached on your device, so you can read it with no signal. Anything shared with you is never cached. If the app cannot reach your account it says so rather than guessing — the Access screen will tell you it could not check what is shared, which is not the same as telling you nothing is shared.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Not yet available in the app. This is a known gap in this version and it is being fixed. In the meantime, email privacy@erosdowgroup.com and we will delete it.

How do I report something that feels wrong?

Email us. If it concerns your safety or someone else's, say so in the subject line and it will be prioritised.

Known issues

  • In-app account deletion is not available yet. It is a known gap in this version and it is being fixed — until then, email privacy@erosdowgroup.com and we will delete your account and its data.
  • The app is not on the App Store yet. This page goes live ahead of the release, so support is by email only for now.
